In its official release, CBSE confirmed that the question papers are genuine and the security of the exam remains intact. The Board further emphasized that QR codes are standard security features, designed to verify the authenticity of exam papers in case of suspected leaks. CBSE assured that measures are being taken to prevent similar confusion in the future.

During the March 9 Class 12 mathematics exam, students noticed a QR code printed on the question paper. The CBSE has now clarified that the exam papers are genuine and the use of QR codes was never a security threat.
CBSE clarifies the issue
According to the official release, QR codes on question papers are security features meant to verify the genuineness of the documents in case of suspected breaches. While in a few paper sets scanning the QR code appeared to link to a video, CBSE confirmed that the integrity of the question papers was never compromised. The Board stated:“It is hereby confirmed by the Board that the question papers are genuine. The security of the question papers remains uncompromised. Necessary steps are being taken to ensure that such issues are not repeated in future.”
