‘I sustain myself with the love of family’

'I sustain myself with the love of family' Why do Indian brides wear a maang tikka?

When Angelou says she is “sustained” by family love, she’s talking about the kind of love that helps you get through life.

We all have bad days. Plans don’t work out. Work gets stressful. People disappoint us. Sometimes, for no obvious reason, you just feel drained.

And then you talk to someone who knows you well.

Maybe they don’t have the answer. Maybe they can’t change what’s happening. But somehow, after talking to them, things feel a little more manageable.

That’s the kind of strength Angelou’s quote points to.

Family love doesn’t mean life suddenly becomes easy. It means you don’t always feel like you’re facing it alone.
